The Omega 3-6-9 fatty acids in Camelina Oil can benefit your dog in so many ways - starting with a shiny coat and healthy skin! Camelina Oil is high in Omega-3, an essential fatty acid that not only acts as an anti-inflammatory to help reduce itching and hot spots but also reduces inflammation throughout the body benefitting joints and mobility.
Camelina oil is also a healthy source of the essential Omega-6 fatty acids. Along with Omega-3 fatty acids, Omega-6 plays a crucial role in brain function, and normal growth and development. As a type of polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA), Omega-6 in Camelina Oil helps stimulate skin and hair growth, maintain bone health, regulate metabolism, and maintain the reproductive system.
Camelina Oil also provides Omega-9 fatty acids. If the dog’s body is low in Omega-3 and 6 it cannot produce enough Omega-9. In this instance, Omega-9 becomes essential because of the body’s inability to produce it and it then has to come from a dietary source. Omega-9 fatty acids promote healthy inflammation responses within the body, have a role in arterial health, reduction of insulin resistance, improvement of immune function, and protection against certain types of cancer.
Since Camelina Oil is cold pressed, the naturally occurring Vitamin E is maintained. Not only does this prevent product rancidity giving it a longer shelf-life, it also provides your dog with a wide range of bioavailable antioxidant tocopherols. The antioxidant effects of Vitamin E are also important for health. Vitamin E helps to prevent free radical damage. It enhances immune function, helps prevent heart disease, arthritis and cancer and, it contributes to eye health.
